John D. Hagley

John D. Hagley, 85, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL. He was born on December 20, 1936 the son of Hancel and Verna (Kilbury) Hagley in Danville, IL. He married Linda Ingram on November 9, 1957.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda; children, Kimberly (Mike) Frichtl, Eric (Kimberly) Hagley, David Hagley, and Jeff (Chris Weathers) Hagley; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Diane) Hagley, Robert (Ines) Hagley, Phillip (Caroline) Hagley; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and his faithful companion, Snoopy.

John is preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters, and his sister, Ramona and her husband Max Bryant.

John worked as a carpenter with Don Reynolds Construction, where he retired from. During his free time, he enjoyed camping, gardening, and being outdoors. He was also a member of the Bismarck First Church of Christ.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Boudouris. Burial will be in Gundy Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Bismarck First Church of Christ.
