John Burmeister

John Jack Burmeister, 93, of Danville, IL passed away August 26, 2006 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. He was born December 12, 1912 in Danville son of Frank C. and Louise (Anders) Burmeister. He married Katharine Engel on July 19, 1935, she preceded him in 1992; two brothers: Howard & Herbert Burmeister also preceded him in death. Surviving in one son Thomas (Sandra Burow) Burmeister of Evansville, IN, three grandchildren: Angela of Indianapolis, IN, Tisha (Ryan Clark) & Kimberly (Brent Green) all of Evansville, IN. Three great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Allie, & Jalen. John had worked at Coffing Hoist Co. for 26 years & retired from Bohn Aluminum Co. after 23 years of service as a tool & die maker. He was the only living member of the once known Vivid Club. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing, hunting, bowling, and most all sports, he also enjoyed gardening and taking care of his home. His son Tom, his wife Sandi and their daughters were loved very much along with a very special and true friend Esther Hageman. He was a life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and active in their Mens Club and Bible class. His confirmation class was the last to be confirmed in German in 1927. A Celebration of Johns life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastors Dan Fienen and Del Krueger officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral Home. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials may be sent to: Immanuel Lutheran Church 1930 N.
