Danville – John W. Brown, Sr., 68, of Danville, passed away at 9:49 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his home. He was born February 4, 1956, in Danville to Darwin and Nancy (Estock) Brown.
He is survived by a son, John W. Brown, Jr. of Rockville, IN; three grandchildren, Devin (Joyce) Brown, Gavin Brown, and Kynslie Brown; a great grandchild, Elondra Brown; and two sisters, Frankie Pryor and Tonya Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Johnny Pryor, and his long-time girlfriend, Ginger.
John was a 1971 graduate of Diamond Grade School in Danville and attended Oakwood High School. He worked at Price Less Foods in Danville for many years until moving on to Save-A-Lot, from where he retired. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing. John could often be found working on lawn mowers and other lawn equipment at his home. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Whether they were helping him on a lawnmower or helping him find a mushroom, he always liked to be with them.
Per his wishes, there will be no services at this time. John’s cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834.
