John Brent Starns

John Brent Starns, 65, of Lawrenceville, GA, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Gwinnett Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1948 in Danville, the son of Robert Viers Starns and Beverly Jane Miller Starns. He married Lynne Anne Daniels on April 15, 1983 in Memphis, TN. He is survived by his wife, mother, two daughters, Karen (Paul) Starns of Kirkland, WA and Shara (Ron) Shaffer of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren: Kate Edwards, Jack Edwards, Anna Shaffer and Will Shaffer; two brothers, Tim (Vivien) Starns of Billings, MT and Jed (Crystal) Starns of Potomac and a very large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father in 1996. He attended Danville High School, graduating in 1966. He worked for Kubota Tractor Corporation since moving to GA in 1991. John had many interests and hobbies including woodworking, golf and fishing. A celebration of Johns life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites to follow services and burial will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made in John Brent Starns name to the American Heart Association or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
