John Balent

WESTVILLE - John M. Balent, 87, of Westville, passed away at 10:14am on Wednesday, April 7th, 2004, at Provena USMC-Logan Campus. John was born on June 26th, 1916, in Westville, IL, the son of John and Anna Holman Balent. He was united in marriage to Thelma Dudley in September of 1940 in Westville. She preceded him in death in 1984. Survivors include; his son, Harold (Karen) Balent of Lebanon, TN, and his daughter, Deloros (George) Lowery of Franklin, LA; his sisters, Betty Balent and Anna Miglin, both of Westville; his grandchildren, Jeff (Sandy) Balent, Kevin (Pam) Balent, Karla (Bruce) Pitcher, Jon (Vanessa) Balent, Michael Balent, & Michelle Vigander; his 8 great-grandchildren. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville. He really enjoyed fishing and loved being with his grandchildren. He treasured his dear friends and neighbors.
