John B. Jenkins

Danville- John B. Jenkins, 80, of Danville passed away on Thursday May 12, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. John was born the son of John D. and Faith (Briggs) Jenkins in Elmhurst, IL on April 11, 1936. He married Patricia L. Long on June 25, 1960 in Chicago, IL. Surviving are one daughter: Deborah Jenkins of Pacific Grove, CA, three sons: J.B. Jenkins of Danville, IL, Mark Richard (Amy) Jenkins of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Jeffery S. (Kelly) Jenkins of Chesterfield, MO, two sisters; Valinda Davis of Chagrin Falls, OH and Julia Jenkins of Chico, CA, as well as four grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Patricia. John was an attorney in the Danville, practicing primarily at Gunn & Hickman. He graduated from the U of I with a Law Degree in 1961. John had obtained the Rank of Eagle Scout as well received his private pilot's license and was a member of the Cessna Cardinals Club. He was a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Board of Governor's for the Illinois Bar Association, the Danville Symphony Orchestra Board, and was a former member of the Danville Jaycee's. He also enjoyed spending his free time playing golf. A Celebration of Life for John will be held on Tuesday May 17th at 10:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL with cremation rights to follow. Visitation will be held on Monday May 16th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be contributed to the Lustgarten Foundation, which is a research foundation for curing Pancreatic Cancer. Inurnment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
