John A. Pinegar

Danville- John Allen Pinegar, 83, of Danville went to meet his Lord on May 14, 2011 at the Danville VA Medical Center, Palliative Care Unit. He was born on January 3, 1928 in Danville to John Everett Pinegar and Lela (Frank) Phipps Hinchman. He married his wife of 54 years, Norma Meeker Pinegar on February 2, 1957. She survives. Also surviving are a sister Carole (Chuck) White; daughter Deborah (Joe) Frank; two sons, Jeffery (Barb) Pinegar and Dale (Kim) Pinegar; six grandchildren, Crystal (Kris) Suchaczewski, Dwayne (Amanda) Huls, Katie Murdock, Mathew Pinegar, Amy Pinegar, and Lukas Pinegar; eight great-grandchildren, Garrett, Kaleb and Megan Suchaczewski, Logan Kasallis, Aiden and Dylan Huls, Audrey Murdock and Love Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and a sister. John was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Army from July 52-July 54. He retired from Lauhoff Grain Company after 41 years of service in 1991. John was a member of the Old Union Church of Christ from 1957-2006 and was a charter member of Crossroads Christian Church. He was a Christian man, loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family dearly and his church family as well. John was a humble, hard working, kind-hearted, honest, and God fearing man. He loved to camp with his family, hunt and fish, and play horseshoes. John will be missed by all that knew him and his pleasant personality, great sense of humor, and his heart of gold. A service to celebrate the life of John Pinegar will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Crossroads Christian Church in Danville. Pastor Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, May 16 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
