John A. Kinney, 72, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 1:53pm, Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at his home. He was born on April 19, 1937, in Ridge Farm, IL, the son of Charles Ross and Blanche (Alderson) Kinney, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Donna Wilson on July 18, 1959, in Westville. She will miss him dearly. Others who will miss him include: his son, John Charles Kinney of Blytheville, AR; his daughters, Shelly (fianc(c), Jerry Sample) Erickson of Monticello, IL, & Kimberly (Jesse) Hubbard of Bonnie, IL; his grandchildren, April (Kelly) Fitzpatrick of OFallon, IL, Erin (Dan Szarek) Hubbard of Bonnie, IL, & Meredith Fraker of Monticello, IL; his great grandchildren, Shellby, Kaylee, & Aaliyah; his brother, Bill Kinney of Ridge Farm; his special niece, Cindy (Skip) Kelson; and great niece, Mandy Hendrix. John was a life-long member of the Ridge Farm United Methodist Church. He was a 50-year 32degree Mason, as well as past Master of Ridge Farm #632. He was a volunteer fireman for Ridge Farm Fire Department. John was a hands-on board member for the Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. John enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his garage. He liked to go fishing, traveling, and enjoyed being in nature. He was known as a loving family man. He will be missed, but not forgotten. A celebration of Johns life will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Matt Filicsky & Jennie Chin officiating. Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm, Friday, September 11, 2009, at the funeral home with Masonic Service to be held at 7:00pm. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Johns name to Carle Hospice Care.
