Johanna Linder, 83, of Danville IL., passed away at 8:30 pm on Sunday June 16, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on March 28, 1930 to Hans Enz and Lioba (Stuhl) in Germany. She married Frederick H. Linder on September 14, 1948, in Frankfurt Germany, he preceded Johanna in death in 1974. Johanna is survived by her son William E. Linder of Danville IL.; one brother Karlheinz (Gerlinde) Enz of Frankfurt Germany; and sisters Rosemarie (Gerard) Muller of Zurich Switzerland and Gisela (Gunther) Steurnagel of Frankfurt Germany She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederick, and sisters Renate Enz and Liselotte Uebel. Johanna spent her early years in Germany before moving with her husband to America where she became a U.S. Citizen. She earned her nursing degree and worked as a LPN for 17 years at the Danville V.A. Johanna was a member of AARP and attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville. She loved spending time with her family, especially her son, and will be missed by all those who knew her. A private celebration of Johanna's life will be held at a later date at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville with Father Nelson of St. Paul's officiating and burial next to her husband at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville IL. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made in Johanna's name to the American Kidney Foundation.
