JoEllyn (Perry) White, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born in Danville, IL on June 17, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Blew) Perry. On January 22, 1954, JoEllyn married Jack D. White and they spent 60 wonderful years together before his passing on February 14, 2014.

JoEllyn is survived by her son, Samuel F. White; grandchildren, Zachary Kilian (Felicia) White, Jacob Frazier (Miranda) White, Ellen Victoria White, Hailey (Judd) Gould, great-grandchildren, Jax, and brothers, Tom (Marti) Perry, and David (Tonda) Perry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack, son, Stanton Perry (Jacquie) White, grandchild, Casey Wycoff White, and brother, John "Jack" C. (Michelle) Perry.

JoEllyn received her nursing degree from Lakeview College of Nursing in 1955. She was a kind and compassionate nurse who cared for her patients with the utmost dignity and respect. With her knowledge and skillset, she quickly became the medical advocate of her family and cared for her husband Jack following his heart transplant surgery giving them 18 more years together.

In her spare time, JoEllyn enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was known as the rock of the family and the glue that binds them together.

In honor of JoEllyns wishes her family has called upon the care of Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Champaign, IL to follow through with cremation. JoEllyn will be laid to rest along with her husband at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian, IL. Special THANKS to Villas of Hollybrook in Savoy for the excellent care JoEllyn received in her final years.
