Joe Weir

Joe Weir, 58, of Ridge Farm passed away at 5:33 p.m. on Friday May 19, 2006 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on August 8, 1947 in Danville, IL the son of Ernest and Marjorie Jackson Weir. He married Sharon A. Marble on February 4, 1967 at Faith Baptist Church in Danville. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2004. Survivors include: one son, Bryan (Kristi King) Weir of Westville; one daughter, Jamie (David) Larsen of Oakwood; one brother, Bruce (Donna) Weir of Effingham; two grandchildren, Kyle and Kasie Larsen of Oakwood; Fianc(c), Barb Brown of Ridge Farm; and special friends, Larry and Peggy Stahl of Ridge Farm. He was preceded in death by his father, as twin brother, John Weir, and a sister, Wanda Weir. Joe was the President of Danville Industrial Paint Inc. in Danville. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown for thirty years. He was a volunteer fireman and first responder. He was a firefighter for thirty years. He resigned as Captain in October 2005 and became a trustee. He resigned from the Fire Dept. in February of 2006 remaining a trustee and an Honorary Firefighter. Joe enjoyed antiques, mushroom hunting, and traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandkids.
