Danville - Joe R. Elliott, 83, went to be with the Lord at 1:08 p.m. on Sunday February 22, 2015 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Joe was born the son of Arthur and Dorothy Elliott on January 29, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas. Joe was united in holy matrimony to his sweetheart Martha Kadel on August 19, 1956. The two enjoyed 58 years of wedded bliss and family life together. She survives. Joe is also by survived his children Karen (Jim) Householter of Wheaton, IL., Jane (Mike) Lozano of Brownsburg, IN., and Suzanne Zercher of Champaign, IL.; and his five grandchildren Emily Householter, Peter Householter, Marisa Lozano, Quentin Lozano and Hannah Zercher. Joe served his country in the Coast Guard for 3 years. He enjoyed bowling for many years and was Secretary - Treasurer of several leagues. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Danville Area Bowling Association. Joe was a member of Wolf Creek Golf Club. He was a Volunteer for Faith in Action for 17 years and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Joe was also known for building and driving Micro Midget race cars for 10 years. Joe enjoyed a full career and retired from the University of Illinois Printing Services division. A service to celebrate the life of Joe Elliott will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday February 27, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. Pastor Michael Heidle will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday February 26, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville.
