Joe W. Hall, 83, of Danville, IL passed away January 25, 2007 at Provena Covenant Care in Urbana. Joe was born September 14, 1923 in Danville son of James Walter and Florence Roderick Hall. He married Lydia Weaver on October 15, 1996 in Gainesville, TN. She survives along with four children: C.W. Hall of Wellington, FL, Crystal (Ken) Berglund of Greenwood, IN, Clifford (Joann) Hall of Greenwood, IN and Betty Jean (Bart) Owen of Summerfield, FL. Stepson Darrell (Jeanell) Weaver of St. Cloud, Fl. Brother: Bob (Betty) Hall of Bismarck, IL; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joe was a 1941 graduate of Bismarck High School. He worked as an insurance broker for 42 years as well as many years at Danville Metal Stamping and C & EI rail yard. He was a member of the First Church of Danville were he taught Sunday school for 30 years; He filled many capacities at the Vermilion Grove Friends Church. Joe was an avid carpenter that built two of his own homes and loved his antique cars. A Celebration of Joes life will be held from 1:00 " 2:00 pm with the service starting at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Vermilion Grove Friends Church with Pastors Jim Walker & James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Saturday afternoon at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center; 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. He will be laid to rest at Huffman Cemetery in Bismarck. Memorials may be made to Vermilion Grove Friends Church. Special thanks would like to be given to Angie and Larry.
