Joe H. Burgoyne

Joe H. Burgoyne, 85, of Covington, IN, passed away at 9:55pm, Monday, April 2, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. He was born on August 6, 1932, in Danville, IL, the son of Willard & Berniece (Cromer) Burgoyne. He married Irene Ford on March 21, 1953; they celebrated their 65th anniversary this year. He will be dearly missed by his sons Rick (Beckey) Burgoyne & Jeff (Pam) Burgoyne; grandchildren, Brittni (Kent) Mason, Sarah, Ashley, & Emily Burgoyne; great grandson, Liam Mason. Joe was proceeded in death by his parents; brother, James Allen Burgoyne; sister, Patricia Young; great grandson, Maxwell Mason. He attended Utterback & Brown Business College. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at NCR Corporation & retired after 38 years. Joe was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Danville, where he served on the church board, & taught Sunday school for many years. Joe was a man of integrity who loved spending time with his family & maintaining the family farm. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at 10:00am, Friday April 6, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermillion, Danville. A Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday April 5, 2018 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Springhill Cemetery, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in Joe's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
