Joe Elliott

Joe Elliott, 84, of Covington, IN passed away on October 25, 2018 peacefully at his home. He was born on July 21, 1934 in McLeansboro, IL the son of Carl and Hattie (Hart) Elliott. He married Louise Clem on May 31, 1953 in North Dakota and she survives. Joe will be deeply missed by his wife, Louise, children; Becky (Michael) Gremore, Michael (Sharon) Elliott, Gwen (Phil) Cotten and Mary (Michael) Powell all of Covington, IN, one brother, Wendell Elliott of Sydney, MT and 53 grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl and Norman Elliott and twin brother, John Elliott. Joe served in the United States Navy. He worked at Indiana Bell Telephone Co. for many years and retired as an electrician for Local #481 of Indianapolis. Joe loved flying and being a pilot. He was a member of UL 81 Ultralight Club in Wallace, IN. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to entertain people especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Covington First Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service.
