Danville - Joan Wilson, 82, of Danville, IL passed away at 8:17 pm on Friday April 29, 2016 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville, IL. Joan was born on July 6, 1933 the daughter of Louis and Ida (Painter) Rich in Worth, WV. Joan was raised in Pageton, WV and upon graduation from High School, moved to Washington, D.C. While working at the National Press Building as a secretary, she met her husband; Howard Wilson, while he was serving in the Air Force. She and Howard married on April 12, 1952 in Anawalt, West Virginia and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2007. Survivors include three sons; Keith (Lila) Wilson, Jim (Patty) Wilson, and Alan (Stephanie) Wilson all of Danville, IL, her twin brothers Joe (Winnie) Rich and Jack Rich both of Oak Ridge, TN, sister-in-law; Betty Cary of Uniondale, IN, seven grandchildren; Misty (Teddy) Halaby of Denver, CO, Mickey (Tara) Wilson of Thomasboro, IL, Ryan (Sarah) Wilson of Danville, IL, Jamie (Jon) Hasselbring of Champaign, IL, Skylar Wilson of Indianapolis, IN, Darrian Chrzanoski and Dalton Chrzanoski both of Danville, IL eight great-grandchildren; Caroline, Vivian, Tripp, Josephine, Brody, Cooper, Campbell, and Marli Jo. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Howard, one sister; Pearl Perkins and one grandson; Cody Wilson. Joan was a member of the St James United Methodist Church in Danville, IL and a former member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church in Oakwood, IL. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting and playing cards. Joan always had cookies in the freezer and loved spending time with her family and friends. Joan was one of those people who never met a stranger. A Celebration of Life for Joan will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10:00 am with Reverend Randall Robinson officiating at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday May 3, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St James United Methodist Church in Danville.
