Joan Weir

Joan Weir, 66, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 3:23pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on March 24, 1945, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Harold and Thelma Baldwin. She was united in marriage to John Weir on October 23, 1965, in Ridge Farm until his passing on July 27, 1998. She will be missed by: her mother, Thelma Baldwin of Indianola; her son, Scott (Paula) Weir of Coulterville; her daughter, Stephanie Miles of Ridge Farm; her grandchildren, Kayla Weir of Coulterville, Trevor Miles of Ridge Farm, & Tanner Weir of Coulterville; and her brother, Steven (Marianne) Baldwin of Ridge Farm. Her father, Harold, preceded in her death. Joan had worked for Sun-Beam Bread Co. in Danville in her earlier years and I.C.M. Grain Elevator in Ridge Farm, and later worked for MSI in Danville. Joan attended Ridge Farm Friends Church. She loved to collect Cherished Teddies and Beanie Babies. She also enjoyed playing Euchre, going bowling, & riding dirt bikes. Joan was a very loving person who loved being with her family. A celebration of Joan's life will be held at 10:30am, Monday, January 30, 2012, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Chapel, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Rev. Robert Hackl. Visitation will be 2-6pm, Sunday, January 29, 2012, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery.
