Joan Patricia Reeves, 87, of Fisher, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born in Leicester, England, on February 27, 1939, the daughter of James and Christine Toll.
Joan is survived by her children, Darryl (Anissa) Connolly, Glenn Connolly, Andrea Dow, and Owen (Gina) Reeves; grandchildren, Brianna (Matt) Rossbach, Cole (Jessica) Griffet, Celia Brown, Roberta “Clair” House, Lauren Connolly, Ashley Wikinson, Christina (Jake) Steingraber, Ryan (Gwen) Dow, Chad (Jennifer) Duncan, Kindra (George) Hein, and Danielle (Travis) Franklin; great-grandchildren, Liam and Ava “Rae” Rossbach, Aiden and Hope Griffet, Alexis, Faith, and Cayla Carlisle, Tanner “TJ” House, Brayden and Paris Wilkinson, Tyler and Garrett Pender, Jordan Langston, Austin and Brandon Henson, Lillian and Madeline Peters, Declan, Ava and Eli Steingraber, Raylin and Nash Duncan, Case and Morgan Hein, Macie Maier, and Roman Franklin; great-great grandchildren, River and Lucas Pender and Saige and Beau Langston.
She is also survived by her close friends, Vivian Medlen, Fran Biederman, Bridget, Hank, Margie, and Sarah Gamel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Christine Toll, and beloved husband, Charles Edward Reeves.
Joan spent many years as a private daycare provider for many local children, including some of her grandkids. She also worked as a receptionist at Maid to Perfection. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking for others, and thrift shopping. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Thomasboro and made many friends during her time with the Mahomet Women's group.
A memorial visitation to honor Joan’s life will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Lux Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, IL 61866. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home the following day at 10:00 am.
Memorial donations may be made in Joan’s name to the Champaign County Humane Society.
