Joan Palmer

Joan (Greenwood) Palmer, 77, of Danville, passed this Life at 3:20pm on Friday, June 4, 2010 with her family by her side. She was born on September 9, 1932, in Danville, the daughter of Alvin and Thelma (Shaw) Greenwood. Joan is survived by her three children, Leighton (Sharri) Palmer of N.C., Deborah Johnson of Danville, and Leean Palmer, also of Danville. Her six grandchildren, T.J. Palmer, Joan Katherine Palmer, Lori, Nichole, Melissa, and Brian, Delattre, her nephew, Marc (Linda) Greenwood of Texas, niece, Beth (Mark) Warner of Catlin, three great nephews, Matthew, Luke, John Greenwood, her great niece, Aubrey Warner, sister-in-law, Betty Greenwood Vogel, and her three canine buddies, Sophie, Isabella, and Maggie Mae also survive her. Her parents, brother, Alvin, two grandsons, Jason and Jared Palmer, her special friend, Charlotte Fonner, and her canine pal, Molly preceded Joan in death. She worked as a CNA and LPN for 23 years at the former Danville Veterans Administration that she enjoyed dearly. She will be missed by all that knew her.
