Joan Marie {Norvilitis} Foyer, 82, of Westville, lost her battle with cancer on January 8, 2022. She was born in Westville, IL, on June 23, 1939, to Walter Scales Norvilitis and Elizabeth {Mayoros} Norvilitis. She was married to Ramon L. Foyer on December 31, 1960, and they enjoyed 34 years together until his passing in September of 1994. Joan taught at St. Marys School in Westville, Westville Junior High, Westville High School, Northridge in Danville, and Schlarman High School. Her career spanned over four decades and her family likes to joke that she taught almost everyone in the area. Joan was a devout Catholic. She played the organ, sang and directed choirs in Westville and Danville. She also sang and played for many weddings and funerals. She was a member of the Danville Light Opera, an avid bowler, Euchre player, voracious reader, loved any trivia game, travel to various places and was famous for her road trips. Joan was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her children, Beth (John) Quigley, Debra (Stan) Michelin, Ramon (LaShay) Foyer, and Michele (Dan) Schuster; her grandchildren, Adrienne (Robert) Phelps, Jessica Quigley, Cathy (Ronny) Muller, Jerrica (Chadd) Snyder, Katie Schuster, Allison (Chase) Haynes, Shannon (Drake) Quigley, Brooklyn Miller, McKayla Miller, Emily Schuster, Jenna Foyer, and Devon Miller; her great grandchildren, Irelynn Phelps, Ava Phelps, Alyssa Muller, Aurora Muller, RJ Muller, Emmitt Snyder, Iann Snyder, Peyton Dickerson, Douglas McIntosh, Mackenzy McIntosh, & Amelia McIntosh; her Aunt Karen Mayors; her sisters, Cathy (Abu) Alam, Martha (Ed) Levin, & Mary (Joe) Tamalunis. Greeting her when she passed were her parents, Walter & Elizabeth Norvilitis; her sister, Walta Norvilitis; her brother, Steve Norvilitis; and her husband, Ramon Foyer. A celebration of Joans life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Father Loftus officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
