Joan Louise (Silvey) Silver, 88, of Georgetown, went to meet her Lord and Savior at 8:00 AM, Sunday, July 3, 2022. She was born on July 4, 1933, in Danville, IL, to Russell and Margaret (Watt) Silvey Moreman. She was united in marriage to her sweetheart, Ray Silver, on August 19, 1951, at Calvary Baptist Church in Danville. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage. She is survived by: her sons, Jerry (Jolanta) Silver of Cottage Grove, MN, and Mike Silver of Georgetown; Her daughter, Janet (David Stein) of Yorktown, IN; her sister, Connie Anderegg of Maricopa, AZ.; her brother, James Moreman of Danville; her stepsisters, Dreama Grant of Danville, and Cheryl Newel of Indianapolis; and stepbrother, Terry Moreman of Danville; her grandchildren; Ginger, Carla, Chad, Eric, Joy, Robert, Jacob, Joseph, David, Rebekah, Matthew, Amye, and Brian, and her 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her parents: her husband; her siblings, Bill, Butch, Kathy and Kim; her daughter, Nancy Kaye; and her son, Rodney Stephen Silver. Joan Silver attended Bob Jones University. She was the Pastors wife of Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown, IL, for 40 years. She was a loving daughter and sister, beloved wife and mother, adored grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Silver was a mentor and counselor, a kindergarten teacher, and Sunday School teacher, a gifted seamstress, and a prayer warrior. The congregation of Bethel Baptist Church enjoyed her weekly Sunday Morning object lessons, sharing Biblical principles using everyday items and artifacts. She loved teaching and working with children and devoted her life to ministry. Sundays were the most important day of her week; helping her beloved husband as a partner in ministry, preparing special Sunday dinners, and teaching children about God. The Silver, Silvey, and Moreman families, Bethel Congregation, and all who knew her will miss her sweet presence and Christ-like spirit. "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston.
