Edith Joan (Joann) Woolley Kondracki, of Georgetown, IL, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Gardenview Manor, Tilton, IL. Joann was born on February 27, 1935, in Danville, IL, to Father Virgil (Mabel) Woolley and Mother Nina (William) Melton Gombert. She married Bernard Kondracki on December 22, 1951, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2015. She is survived by two children, Susan Kay Kondracki Chernauskas of Bloomington, IL, and Richard Alan (Tracy) Kondracki of Georgetown. Other surviving relatives include a special granddaughter, Isabella Marie Kondracki, as well as five other granddaughters and one grandson, three great granddaughters and five great grandsons. She is also survived by two sisters, Nina (Wilfred) Gombert Wyatt and Patricia (John) Gombert Romant. She was preceded in death by: her parents, father Virgil (Mable) Woolley and mother Nina (William) Melton Gombert; two sisters, Barbara Jean (Harold) Woolley Purvis and Katherine (Fred) Gombert Butcher; and one brother, Christian "Butch" Gombert. Joann was baptized on January 17, 1961 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a member of the Georgetown Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years. As a devoted student of the Bible, she enjoyed sharing her hope for the future with others and had the privilege of spending several years as a full time evangelizer. Although housebound in her later years, she continued to share in the ministry as much as possible, including writing letters to encourage confidence in a resurrection to perfect life on a restored paradise earth. Joann enjoyed watching "The Golden Girls" and old western movies with her granddaughter, Isabella, and her furbabies, Scarlette (her precious poodle) and Munchie (her cat). Her hobbies included painting, reading, sewing, and cooking. Her loving kindness and generous spirit was evident to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm, Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1800 N State St, Westville. Visitation will be held 4pm to 5pm on Sunday prior to her service at Kingdom Hall in Westville. Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, IL, assisted the family with arrangements.
