Joan Irene Strater

Joan (Joanie) Irene Strater (aka Bolon, Harris, Hebert), passed away on June 18, 2023 after a hard fought battle with leukemia. She was born on August 11, 1955.

Joanie is preceded in death by husband Thomas C. Strater, parents, Glen and Irene Bolon, sister, Sue Hunt.

She is survived by daughter Casey (Dale) Jervis, son, Joseph Hebert, daughter, Rian (Tyler) Roland, son, Ryan North, granddaughters, Avery and Emilia Roland, brother Glen (Linda) Bolon, niece & nephew Lindsey and Chadd Hunt, cousins, Vicki and Brian Evans, close friends, Martiee and Rich Meyer, Suzanne Moore, Steve Brown, Sara and Arianna Balogyen, and many close family and friends in both Columbus, OH and Champaign, IL.

Joanie was a graduate of Eastmoor High School in Columbus, OH, class of 1973. After working many jobs in Columbus, OH she moved to Champaign, IL in 2006. She also worked at St. Thomas More High School and Central High School, where she retired. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Leukemia Society.

Interment will be private, but family and friends will be invited to a celebration of her life at a later date.
