Danville - Joan Hibbs, 92, of Danville, passed away at 5:18 pm on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on March 27, 1921 in Brimfield, IL. She was married to Chester Hibbs on March 29, 1941 in Missouri He preceded her in death in 1974. She is survived by her son Robert (Sharrie) Hibbs, grandson Rob and great-grandchildren Cammie and Evan Hibbs. Her Daughter Roberta (Larry) McMillan, Grandsons Timothy, Paul (Sheryl) great-grandchildren Patrick and Conner McMillan, Mary Ann (Brad) Ferris great- grandchildren Neil Edward, Madeline Grace, Sarah Elizabeth, Samuel Isaac. Her daughter Marilyn (Ron) Wolfe, grandson Roland Wolfe, Matthew (Paula) Wolfe, great-grandchildren Tristan Dean, Rylan Matthew, Ella Mae. She is preceded in death by her husband Chester, her parents, her sister Berenice Johnson, and her brother Murray Miller. Joan was an avid gardener who loved to spend time in either her vegetable garden or her flower beds. Joan simply loved being outside, when she wasnt gardening she could be found either bird watching or fishing. Joan was a giver she endured many struggles in her life but she overcame them and raised her children but was also a caregiver to 13 other children. She also loved crafts whether it was sewing or crocheting different things for her family. Above all else Joan loved her family she will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A celebration of Joans life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday October 18, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with her son-in-law Larry McMillan, Brad Ferris, and Jeremy Zerkle will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 1pm - 2pm on Friday October 18, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
