Joan C. Hardesty

Joan Carol Hardesty met Jesus at Heavens pearly gates on August 21, 2019. She was born to Fern Wonacott and Marion Hoskins on February 2, 1938.

Joan married Bill Hardesty on December 26, 1969. She had four children; Sherry (Tony) Forshee, Lisa (Jeff) Martin, Scott (fianc, Debi) Hardesty, and Jan Hardesty. Joan was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to participate in and win many jitterbug contests with the love of her life, Bill, who won her over by singing

Elvis Presley songs. She was a die hard Dolphins and Cubs fan. You could usually find Joan surrounded by her many, many grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. You could call her to keep the grandkids any time, any day. They were the light of her life. But when she didnt have a couple grandkids at her house, boy did she love a night out at the gambling boat or to go out and hit up all the rummage sales on the weekend! She was always on the go, and she had a passion for the beach. She was very witty and had a great since of humor. She would have given the shirt off her back to anyone in need.

Joan is survived by her four children, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.

Joan was greeted in Heaven by her parents, husband, sisters; Donna, Fernetta, Viola, and brothers; Marion, Don, and Frank, granddaughter Lindsey Splane, and great great granddaughter Honesty Kiley.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Miles Clark. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville at a later date. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
