Joan Anderson

Mary "Joan" Anderson, 93, of Danville passed away at 7:22 a.m., Sunday, April 24. She was born the daughter of Earle and Leona (Rush) Rothgeb on October 17, 1928 in Wellington, Illinois. She married Robert Bob Anderson on March 2, 1946.

She is survived by her son, Wes Anderson (Teri Starkey); her granddaughters, Ali (Jake) Kreider and Kelli (Brian) Amentt; her great grandsons, Gavin and Asher Kreider; her nephews Skip (Dawn) Crusinberry and Mark MacLeod; and friends, Brenda Crusinberry and Judy Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; her sons, John and Larry; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda (Cecil) Crusinberry and Betty (Don) MacLeod; her nephews, Wayne and Bill Crusinberry, and Brian MacLeod.

Joan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She cherished her sons, and simply adored her granddaughters and great grandsons. Her sisters were not only her family, but her best friends. They could spend countless hours chatting away. Joan and her husband, Bob, truly enjoyed each other and took countless trips together. Joan enjoyed singing, writing, playing cards, and watching basketball and tennis.

She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and enjoyed participating in the United Methodist Womens Circle, where she loved working at the bakery at the annual bazaar. She was also a member of Danville Womens Club.

Joan was a strong, resilient woman who will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be James Fielder. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
