Jimmy Lewis

Jimmy Ray Lewis, 82, of Kingman, IN, passed away at 6:44am, Sunday, June 4, 2023, at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Indiana. He was born to Benjamin and Susie Lewis on December 16, 1940, in Philo. Illinois. He was wed to Charlene Hazel Sherman on September 7, 1958, and were married for 51 years until her passing on March 10, 2010. Jimmy is survived by his sons, Doug (Pam) Lewis of Kingman, IN, Duane (Kim) Lewis of Yeddo, IN, Mike (Lynn) Lewis of Collison, IL, and Rick (Samantha) Lewis of Yeddo, IN; his two sisters, Melba (Cliff) Moore and Caroline Summers, both of Veedersburg, IN; his twelve grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Loren Fuzzy Lewis; two sisters, Beverly Matteucci and Loretta Thomas; and one grandson, Shane Lewis. Jimmy enjoyed going raccoon hunting with his Bluetick Coon dogs. He loved his horses, working in the garden, and tending to his Koi Pond. He belonged to the Yeddo Lodge #636. As per his wishes, he will be accorded cremation rites and services will be held at 11:00am (EST), Friday, June 23, 2023, at Centennial Church Cemetery, 3160 County Rd 100 E, Kingman, IN 47952 with Loren Stephens officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932.
