Jim Russell

Jim Russell, 52, of Danville, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 11, 1962 in Champaign, IL, the son of Donald and Mary (Brown) Russell. He married Darla Delay on June 3, 2005 in Urbana, IL. She survives. Jim will be deeply missed by sons, Justin Kyle (Michelle) Therkildsen of Urbana, IL and Turk "TJ" (Charaya) Therkildsen of Champaign, IL, one sister, Christie Watkins of Savoy, IL, many nieces and nephews and one special friend, Tony Barham of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert "Bob" Donald Russell. Jim received his GED from Rantoul High School. He worked various jobs and was a union carpenter. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, drinking beer, ice fishing and playing euchre. He loved spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of life memorial service for Jim will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Mark Carpenter officiating.
