Jim Franks

Danville - James "Jim" Franks, 73, passed away on Thursday April 14, 2016 at his home in Danville. He was born on February 20, 1943 in Oak Lawn, IL, the son of James and Annamae (Kuhn) Franks. Jim married Virginia "Gini" Lee Harkness in 1970 in Danville. Jim is survived by his children Jay (Phyllis) Franks, Jennifer Ferguson, and Larry (Emily) Franks; grandchildren Emma Ferguson, Katherine Franks, Jenna Franks, and Jessica Franks; sisters Elizabeth (Nick Tribuzio) Franks, Kathy (Jim) Wehling, Margaret (Peter) Hoyer, and Laurie (Keith) Lamm. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Jill Franks. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors. He liked fishing, he was an avid horseman, and he enjoyed mowing the grass on his property. He retired from Bunge milling in 2003 after 33 years of service. As per his wishes, cremation rites have been arranged through Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jim's name to the American Cancer Society.
