Jill Salonen

Jill Salonen, 66, of Danville, Illinois passed away on October 29, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Jill was born July 1, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota daughter of Edward and Margaret (Kennedy) Wandersee. She married Dale Salonen on September 18, 1976 in Orono, Minnesota. He survives. Prior to moving to Danville, she worked as a personal banker for Norwest Bank in downtown Minneapolis. After moving to Danville she worked as a loan officer at Hyster Credit Union and as a professional recruiter at Opportunity Specialists Inc. Jill founded The Halstead Group in 1989, a nationwide professional recruiting service that she operated until retiring in 2001. Being a nature lover, she enjoyed wildlife, boating the Mississippi, Tennessee, and the St. Croix rivers, as well as reading, cooking and her beloved animals. Jill was a longtime member of the Danville Boat Club and the Danville Garden Club. A celebration of Jills Life will be held at the Danville Boat Club at a later date. She will be cremated at Sunsets on-site crematory and later interred in her native Minnesota.
