Jessie E. Tucker, 85, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 4:11am, Monday, May 13, 2019, at his home. He was born on August 3, 1933 in Metter, Georgia, the son of Gordon and Leetha Tucker. He was married to Betty "Chris" McCoy on July 15, 1955, until her passing.
Jessie is survived by: his sons, Steve, Jay, Jeff, Mark, and his daughter, Sheri. He leaves behind his many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, Don.
During the last five years of his life, Jessies son, Mark, lived with and took care of him selflessly and without hesitation which allowed Dad to pass in peace in his home as he was surrounded by his loving daughter, Sheri, Mark, & Mattie.
Jessie loved motorcycle riding in the late 70s and was part of Steves stock car pit crew from 1979 to 1999. He enjoyed watching baseball and tinkering on mowers. He loved raising his seven kids and spending time with them. He was known to enjoy drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes with family and friends while in the den or on the porch outside. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife in whatever hobby she had at the time or whatever hobby she said he could have. Jessie will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Jessies life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Georgetown, located at 200 E West St, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola.
