Jessie Mae Goodhue

Oakwood - Jessie Mae Goodhue, 81, of Oakwood, passed away at 9:18 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on August 21, 1933 in Temple Hill, KY to Thomas William and Mary Tinsley Wheeler. She married James Cecil Goodhue. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her nephew, Rick Wheeler, and his two daughters, Tria Seaton and Bobbie Jo Wheeler. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and 15 brothers and sisters. Jessie was an accountant with H & R Block for 30 years in charge of the Southern Illinois Region before opening her own tax business out of her home in Oakwood. She enjoyed making ceramics, and loved to collect jewelry, coins, baby dolls, and frogs. She was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Amvets Ladies Auxiliaries. A service to celebrate the life of Jessie Goodhue will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-5 PM on Sunday, September 28, also at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel. Memorials in Jessies name may be made to the donors choice.
