Jessie L. Sis LaMar, 88, of Georgetown, went home to be with the Lord at 4:55pm, Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Hawthorne Inn, Danville. She was born on November 15, 1922, the daughter of John and Nell {Clark} Cohoon, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Clark LaMar on January 5, 1943, in Georgetown until his passing on December 31, 2000. Jessie was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Georgetown and of the C.P.W. She enjoyed doing yard work, crocheting, gardening, and traveling. She enjoyed her church family very much. Those who will miss her in their lives include: her son, Gary LaMar of Georgetown; her daughter, Burma (Richard) Thomas of Danville; her grandchildren, James (Nancy) LaMar of Charleston, Kenneth (Molly) LaMar of Danville, Phyllis (Todd) Dalzell of Westville; Marcie Thomas of Danville, Jessica (Jeff) Keeling of Westville; her great grandchildren, Brock, Kendall, Damon, Grant, Keirsten, Keegan, and her sisters, Linda Bales of Florida & Vickie Haussy of Georgetown. She will also be missed by: her special family members, Lynn (Danny) Taylor, Cody Taylor, & Macey Taylor of Indianola, Chelsey (Ryan) Jolley & daughter, Rylynn, of Danville; her special niece, Barb (Bob) Binkley; and many special friends including, Phyllis Fraser, Edna Stal, & Jane Hubbard. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Rex, Max, & Ted, and her daughter-in-law, Judy LaMar.A celebration of Jessies life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, A Life Celebration Home, Georgetown, with Pastor Leon Korb officiating. Visitation will be held 3pm-7pm, Friday, December 17, 2010, at the funeral chapel. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
