Jerry W Mccoy

Jerry W. McCoy, 84, of Hawbuck, died at 2:29pm, Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his home with his grandson by his side. He was born on July 6, 1927, in Jamaica Twp., Illinois, the son of Lester W. and Pearl M. {Austin} Mccoy, both deceased. He is survived by: his sister, Dorabelle (Max) Devitt of Crawfordsville, IN; his best friends, Thomas (Lorie) Ames of Catlin; his God-daughter, Cindy Harlan; his grandson, Michael (Ashley) Ames of Danville; and his great grandchildren, Dakota Ames, Lillian Ames, & Michael Michael T' Ames. He was preceded in death by five brothers & two sisters. Jerry worked for Mervis Industries as a fabricator for 19 years. He loved building things with his hands. He enjoyed wood carving, going fishing and hunting. He also loved taking care of his property and being outdoors. He was known for helping out others, especially children. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 11:00am, Monday, July 9, 2012, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Pastor Scott McCurdy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Sandusky Cemetery.
