Jerry R Covington

GEORGETOWN - Jerry Ross Covington, 66, of Georgetown passed away at 7:32pm on January 8th, 2006, at his residence. He was born on December 12th, 1939, in Lafayette, IN, the son of Harry J. and Cecelia (Simpson) Covington. He was raised by his grandparents, John and Clara Covington in Lafayette, IN, both his parents and grandparents preceded him in death. His step-mother, Jayne Covington survives. He married his beloved Nancy Ann (McGarrity) Covington on December 30th, 1966. She will miss him deeply. He will also be missed by: his children, Marion (Janis) Carlock of Georgetown, Carla Thompson of Georgetown, Harry J. (Darlene) Covington II of Olivet, Maria (Cary) Lane of Georgetown, and Ronald (Sherri) Clark of Georgetown; his eleven grandchildren; and his life-long friend, Charles Stuart Scott of Newport Richie, FL. His hobbies included muzzle-loading, historical re-enactments, studying and reading history and enjoyed talking with his friends. He cherished time spent with his family. A celebration of Jerrys life will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 11th, 2006, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Visitation will be 10-11am prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lafayette, IN. Memorials may be given in Jerrys name to Carle Hospice
