Jerry Norton 'Moose'

Jerry V. Norton, 51, of Danville, received his promotion to heaven at 10:55 am Sunday, July 5, 2009 at his residence with his family at his side. Jerry was born October 12, 1957 in Danville son of Jerry and Shirley (Hawes) Norton. He married Martha Marie Loy on September 12, 2006. She survives along with his mother and five children: Jennifer (Jeff) Mueller, Jeff (Nikki Spencer) Norton, Kim (Doug) Debarba, Eric Loy, and Karla Deciano; grandchildren: Bradley, Tatiana, Treo, Isia, and Thaili; sisters: Debra (Larry) Wilson, Wendy (Jim) Kennedy, and Rosemary Wynn; and soon to be granddaughter Taylor Nichole due September 1, 2009; several nieces & nephews, and numerous friends. His father and an infant sister preceded him in death. Jerry worked as a manager in the insurance and investment business for 25+ years, and was currently employed at Monumental Insurance in Danville. He enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and coaching pony & little league baseball in Danville & Tilton, and major league from the couch. Jerry was an avid Bears, Illini, and Cubs fan, but above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. A Celebration of Jerrys Life will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the funeral home with Miles Clark officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
