Jerry Mcbride

Jerry L. McBride, 75, of Danville passed away at 12:58 p.m. Friday April 15, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on February 25, 1936 in Danville, IL the son of William and Audrey (Gillespie) McBride. He married Barbara A. Galaskis on February 19, 1955 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Westville, IL. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Timothy L. McBride of Danville, his sister-in-law, Jacqueline Galaskis of Danville, his nieces and nephews, Paul Galaskis, Barbara Young, Bob Bott, and Bill Bott, his great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Jean Ann, and niece Brenda Fry. Jerry retired from Black & Co. after 45 years of service as an outside salesman. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the Captain of the Danville High School football team in 1953. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Colts and Bears fan. He had many friends and didnt know a stranger. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday April 20, 2011 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. Father Sauppe will officiate. He will be entombed at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday April 19, 2011 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel 414 S. State St. Westville, IL.
