Jerry M. Biggs

Jerry M. Biggs, 90, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at his home at 9:25pm, Friday, December 16, 2022. He was born on December 9, 1932, in Georgetown, the son of Lena Helen Biggs. He was united in marriage to Clair B. Griffin on June 11, 1956, in Batesville, Mississippi. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2012. Jerry will be missed by his daughter Susan (David) Warner of Danville and many cousins, as well as friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; his wife; and his son, Roger Biggs. Jerry was a proud Veteran of the US Army and served in Korea. He worked for General Motors Tilton Foundry for 37 years until his retirement. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and raised hunting dogs. He was an avid fisherman and loved gardening. He also enjoyed woodworking and made many things. Jerry was always known to have a smile on his face and was happy to see everyone. A celebration of Jerrys life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00am to 1:00pm on Wednesday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to Kennekuk Herb Garden Project or Forest Glen Cabin Garden Project.
