Jerry Lee Slick' McMasters, 71, of Westville, passed away 11:31am, Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on October 30, 1946, in Danville, IL, the son of Bill and Maymie {Raymann} McMasters. Jerry was united in marriage to Sheri Lee Hardy at St. Joseph's Church in Danville, IL, on November 25, 1967. Those who will miss him include: his wife, Sheri; his sons, Clint (Jessica) McMasters of Westville, Craig McMasters of Danville, & Troy (LuAnn) McMasters of Potomac; his grandchildren, Tryce, Trent, Ty, Bailey, Chase, Mason, and Dawson McMasters; his brothers, Larry McMasters of Monticello, & Bill (Kelly) McMasters of Bismarck; his sisters, Melinda (Kevin) Wagle of Catlin & Penny (Troy) Pate of Georgetown; his brothers-in-law, Jim Hardy of Westville & Jack (Sue) Hardy of Lafayette, IN; his sister-in-law, Josephine Maxwell of Westville; several nieces & nephews; and his lifelong best friend, Vaughn Howard of Champaign. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brothers, Allen & Bob McMasters; and grandson, Landon McMasters. Jerry was a Specialist Four E-4 in the US Army National Guard. He retired from Allied Chemical/Honeywell after 36 years working as a lab technician. He was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville. He enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, and was an avid backyard mechanic & carpenter. He loved Christmas Eve and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Monday, July 2, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville, with Father Saupp officiating. Visitation will be held 9:00am to 11:00am on Monday prior to his service at the Church. He will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville. Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville, OSF SHMC Cancer Center Foundation in Danville, IL or Carle Auxiliary Guest House in Urbana.
