Jerry Lane 61, of Oakwood passed away at home at 3:29pm Monday, July 23, 2012. He was born August 11, 1950 in Barren County, Kentucky, the son of Jim and Essie Lane. He married Brenda S. Russell in Hart County Kentucky, she survives. Also surviving are one son, Troy L. Lane of Catlin, IL, and one daughter, Tonya S. (Carl) Hill of Catlin. Two grandchildren, Macallister Hill and Lilly Lane, both of Catlin, one brother, Jim (Lee Etta) Lane of Glasgow, KY, three sisters, Francis Hogue of Austin, KY, Nora (Hugh) Kennedy of Albany, KY, and Ruth (Bob) Osborne of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a friend, (Marshal Woodcock). Jerry graduated from Austin Tracey Kentucky High School. He worked for 35 years at Tee Pak in Danville as a machinist in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Collision Masonic Lodge and served on both the union and credit union board at Tee Pak. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, riding on his Harley and his horses, and spending time with his dog Prissy. Jerry was a big fan of the Kentucky Wildcats college basketball team and he will be missed by many, but most of all by his wife, children, and grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of Jerry Lane is scheduled for 10:00am on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Catlin. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the funeral Home. Masonic Rites Service will be held by the Collision Masonic Lodge at 7:30pm on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carle Cancer Chemo Department in Danville.
