Jerry Elmore, 87, of Catlin, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 20, 1930 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of James and Ruby (Fishero) Elmore. He was united in marriage to Joyce Vanhuss on December 11, 1949 until her passing in 2011. He will be dearly missed by his son, David (Tammy) Elmore; daughter, Charlene (Steve) Cornett; grandchildren, Randy Tinder, Rick Wagner, Myretta Fitzsimmons, Ryan (Kyla) Elmore; step-granddaughters, Amanda Overmeyer, Jodi Davis, Stephanie Bailey, Tricia Cornett; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Jenae, and Alisa Tinder, Ricky Wagner, Summer Wagner, Andru and Joey Aguirre and Adalynn Elmore. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Denny Elmore, daughter, Debbie Sheets, and brother James Elmore. Jerry enjoyed playing golf with his son, woodworking and model trains. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, Danville. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Swan Court.
