Jerry Dean White

Danville Jerry Dean White, 91, died December 4, 2022 at his home in Danville, IL. He was born August 12, 1931 in Danville, IL to Floyd and Ada May (Jones) White. He married Jane Ellen (Kiser) on December 18, 1976 in Danville. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2021.

In addition to his wife, Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert F. Smith, sons-in-law Walter Siddall and Doug Shaw, and a nephew, Tim Raycraft.

Jerry served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a General Contractor for his own business, Jerry White Construction. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, playing cards with his family, watching Westerns and embarrassing his daughters. Jerry also loved traveling, mushroom hunting, and watching Illini Basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals.

He leaves behind six children, David (Ely) White, Danny White, Cheryl Shaw, Charles (Bonnie) Smith, Susan Siddall, and Lauri (Eric) Cunningham; grandchildren, Troy White, Zachary (Karyn) Weddle, Chelsey (Scottie) Royle, Thomas Shaw, Evan Cunningham, and Elias Smith; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Decklan Weddle and Bellamy Royle; sister, Irma Raycraft; nephew, Todd Raycraft; and his little buddy, Rabble. He was greatly loved by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.

The family would like to thank Lauri, Zach, Karyn, Evan and Irma, who continuously provided loving care during his time of need administering comfort, support, and much love. He was so thankful to all of you, saying he couldnt have made it without you.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry would like to have donations go to the Shriners Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 9, 2022 with visitation held from 1-2 PM prior at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL, 61834. Chaplain Glenn Corbly will officiate. He will be interred at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 210.
