Jerry Dean Smith

Jerry Dean Smith, 63, of Danville passed away on September 15, 2018 peacefully at his home. He was born on February 1, 1955 in Danville the son of Floyd W. and Alice Ruth (Middleton) Smith. He married Cathy McCrone on July 26, 1975 in Danville and she survives. Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife, Cathy, son, Jerry A Smith of Danville, daughters; Carla and Amy Smith both of Danville, brothers; Dennis (Marla) Smith of Bloomington, IL, Daryl (Vickie) Smith of Ridge Farm, IL, sister-in-law, Jan Smith of Potomac, grandchildren; Kayla, Khelcy, Ashley, Bryson, Ethan and Akira, great grandchildren; Christian, Chelsea, Jay, Braylen, Ayven Carter Lee and special friends, Pam Moyer, Denny Hale and Chris Doggett. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Smith, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Jerry worked at Thyssen Krupp Crankshaft for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, coin collecting, going on family vacations and spending time with his friends and family. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Jim Blue officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
