Danville- Jerry Dean Beckley Sr, 64, of Danville, passed away at 12:50 pm on May 28, 2013 at his home. He was born on October 15, 1948 in Danville, IL to Grant J. and Mae M. Beckley. He was married to Sally Comrie on October 06, 1967 at Vermilion Heights Christian Church in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by his sons Jerry Dean (Teresa) Beckley Jr. and John Paul (Jeanette) Beckley; his grand-children Tayler, Logan, Grant, Jackson, Jeron, and Jaydyn; his great grand-child Leilani; his aunt Evelyn Beckley; sister in law Jane (Cyril) Ostiguy; and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his Parents; and his paternal grandparents and Caesar and Rosa Rege; he is also preceded by many aunts and uncles as well as his best friends Tim Daniels and John Hughes. Jerry loved work, having been employed at Tee Pak/Visco Fan for over 42 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved his basset hounds Danny and Nicky and his dachshunds JR and Pepper "Little Buddy", and his beloved cat Bootsie. Jerry served his country in the US Navy from 1967-1971 and was a past member of the American Legion. Jerry enjoyed spending time working with his hands and working on his yard. Above all else Jerry loved his family, going on vacations and traveling with family was one of his many favorite things to do. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday June 1, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Lael Dixon will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday May 31, 2013, also at Sunset in Danville. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park on a later date. Memorials may be made in Jerry's name to The Oncology Department at Carle Clinic in Danville.
