Jerry D. Morgan, 65, of Danville, passed away at 4:54 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2005 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was born October 9, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the son of Alonzo and Ruth (Fagean) Morgan. He married Rosemary Rita "Rosie" Thoma on July 13, 1963 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Danville. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2004. He is survived by: 1 Son- Jerry Dwain Morgan II and his fiance- Leslie Toth of Woodbridge, NJ; 1 Daughter- Theresa Morgan of Danville; 1 Granddaughter- Destiny Rose Marie Morgan of Danville; 3 Brothers- Robert (Christine) Morgan of New Jersey, Lindell (Peggy) Morgan of Missouri and Kenny (Rhonda) Morgan of Arkansas; 2 Sisters- Jeanetta (John) Golden of Danville and Linda Kay (Butch) Mayhew of Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, 1 Sister in infancy and 1 Brother- Alonzo Morgan, Jr. preceded him in death. Jerry worked for the VA Medical Center in Danville in housekeeping and as a nurse's aid for 30 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, AFGE Union and Auxiliary Police Association. He collected hot wheels, enjoyed playing bingo and coached women's softball. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, watching her softball games and listening to her sing in show choir competitions.
