Jerolyn Attwood

Jerolyn Attwood of Savoy passed away on December 24, 2025, following a 10 year battle against colon cancer. Diagnosed in 2016 with stage 4, she fought hard with the amazing care of the Carle Oncology Suite nursing staff and Dr Mantha.

Jeri was born to Henrietta and Franz Rubbert while living in Calumet, Iowa. A short while later, the family relocated to a farm near Cherokee, where Jeri and her sisters Joyce, Janice, and Joanne all completed high school.

Soon after graduation Jeri opted for Business School in Sioux Falls. Upon completion, Jeri went west to join her sister Janice in Great Falls, Montana. Jeri remained there for 35 years; married Lonny Wocasek, raised their two boys, Thad Allen and Thor James. The marriage dissolved in 1984. She remarried to M Joseph Attwood and relocated to Champaign, Illinois, in 2000. Cremation has taken place and as she wished, no services are planned. Internment in Cherokee at a later date is likely. She is survived by her sons, husband and sisters Janice and Joanne.
