Holmes Beach, Florida -- Jeremiah Matthew Edland, 32, formerly of Newport, Indiana and a resident of Holmes Beach, Florida, passed away at 10:52 a.m. EST Sunday, December 28, 2008 in Bradenton, Florida. He was born November 19, 1976 in Danville, Illinois the son of Debbie Hinkle and Christopher Vincent Edland. Survivors: one daughter, Charity Edland of Bradenton, Florida; mother, Debbie Edland of Newport, Indiana; father, Christopher Vincent(Sharon)Edland of St. Louis, Missouri; half sister, Crystal Edland of St. Louis, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Tina(Bob)Reed, Kim(John)Major and J.D.(Trace)Bridges all of Clinton, Indiana; Donna Jo(Mike)Stout of Perrysville, Indiana; several cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joanna Bridges and his maternal grandfather, Donald Leon Hinkle. Jeremiah was a supervisor at a local marina in Anna Maria Island, Florida. He was a 1995 graduate of North Vermillion High School participating in football and basketball for 4 years. He graduated from Ball State University in 2000. Jeremiah enjoyed fishing, gardening and working on his boat. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EST Saturday, January 3, 2009 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Andy Spencer; Visitation: 10 a.m. EST until time of services Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the funeral home. Cremation to follow after services.
