Jennie M. Lesko, 96, of Westville, IL, met with the lord surrounded by her family at 12:13pm, Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Presence USMC in Danville. She was born on June 10, 1916, in Georgetown, the daughter of Lithuanian immigrants, Walter and Oleta {Zensckus} Stasavich. On January 20, 1940, she was married to Andrew G. Lesko who preceded her in death on August 2, 1986. She was also preceded in death by: two sisters, Eleanor Vilkanskas & Oleta Accantalado; one brother, Clarence Stasavich; and a son-in-law, Robert Gibson. She is survived by: four children, Judy Landers (Doug Trawick) of West Palm Beach, Alice Gibson of Danville, Beth Rohrbach (Luis) of Danville and Larry Lesko (Carlos Pineiroa) of West Palm Beach. Also surviving are: five grandchildren, Jeffrey Landers of Atlanta, David Landers of Orlando, Brian (Karen) Rohrbach of Danville, Darin (Angela) Rohrbach of Camby, IN, and Sharon McGuire of Lake Wales, FL. She has seven great-grandchildren: Bryce Rohrbach, Ellie, Sophie, & Lillie Rohrbach, Scarlett Jennie Rohrbach, Andrew Rains, and Logan McGuire. Jennie was a devout Catholic who prayed her rosary up to five times a day for all of her family and many special intentions when someone would ask her to pray for them. She graduated with a nursing degree from St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1939 where she was President of her graduating class. She volunteered for many years as a school nurse for St. Mary's and also served as a Cub Scout leader there. She enjoyed gardening and her geraniums that she still planted every year. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Mary's Church. In her free time, Jennie enjoyed watching sports especially East Carolina, Illinois, the Bears, and Kansas State. On Saturday night, she would never miss Lawrence Welk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 2, 2013, at St. Mary's Church, 231 N State St, Westville, with Father Timothy Sauppe officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-7pm, Friday, March 1, 2013, Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 N State St, Westville, with a Rosary at 4:00pm. She will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be donated in Jennie's name to Provena Health Foundation in care of Provena Regional Cancer Center.
