Jennie Chin

Jennie Chin, 66 of Champaign, passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2016. She was born on September 7, 1949 in Champaign, IL to George Chin and Gong Yok Tsun (Jean Chin). Jennie is survived by her mother; son David (Julia) White; daughters Julianne (Jr) Walag, Chi Luu, Cuc Liang, and Hoa Coppenbarger; grandchildren Kaien, Mylea, Isabella, and one blessing to arrive soon; brothers George Chin Jr. and Eddie Chin. She is preceded in death by her father. Jennie was an active member of Quest United Methodist Church in Urbana and had dedicated her professional life to helping those with disabilities as well as encouraging others in their walk with God. Jennie deeply enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was quick to laugh, had an ongoing love of learning, and never forgot to share her fondness of sweets with her grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday June 12, 2016 from 2-4pm at Sunset Funeral Home 701 N. Neil Street, Champaign, IL. A celebration of Jennie's life will be held on Monday June 13, 2016 at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home. Following the services, she will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Burial Park.
