Jeffrey Scott Turner, born on February 23, 1978, in Danville, Illinois, passed away in his home on November 7, 2025, leaving behind a treasured legacy of love and kindness.
Jeffrey dedicated a significant part of his career to the Pilot Auto Plaza and was instrumental in the installation of gambling machines at the new Casino in Danville and also contributed to Kal's Roadhouse. His hands-on approach to life and problem-solving made him known as a reliable handyman among friends and family. He had a great passion for understanding how things worked, often spending time on his computer and phone to learn how to fix various items.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jeffrey was beloved for his many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed fishing and often shared joyful moments with friends while playing pool in various leagues, showcasing his love for the game as well as his sociable spirit. He was an avid Cubs and Bears, also Illini Basketball fan enjoying watching them play. Jeff enjoyed watching his two daughters play in school activates. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother Linda (Kielich) and stepfather Phillip Cappello, his daughter Abigail Turner, stepdaughter Josalynn Castillo, and his daughters' mother, Cynthia (Thompson) Turner. Additionally, he is remembered by his sister Melissa (Andy) Rogers, brother James Lee Turner Jr., and half-sister Tracey (Nicholas) Carter and stepsister Gayle Cappello, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Turner, his grandparents: Iris and John Kielich, Edith and Milo Faulkner, stepbrother Kenton Cappello.
A Celebration of Jeff's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 414 S State St, Westville, IL 61883, on November 18, 2025, at 1pm. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to help pay funeral expenses for Jeff. The family asks that you dress casual in orange and blue for services.
